Firearms Training

The traditional firearms training in America started as target shooting. That would imply that the target remained stationary and the so is the person shooting. While it was fine for target shooting, that approach is not helpful under the real world conditions, where the target is on the move. Engaging moving targets is very different from dealing with the stationary ones and it requires a different set of skills.Moving and shooting at the same time is also a valuable skill, since that makes it challenging for the bad guy to shoot you.

Another issue is looking at the sights versus focusing on target. The natural human instinct is to look at the bad guy and that is what usually happens. Obviously, shot placement is also very important. Unfortunately, traditional center mass oriented shooting has on numerous occasions failed to stop the threat. On the other hand, head shot generally works well.
